My name is Melanie Wilber, and I write stories of love, faith, and friendship for women and girls. I currently
live in Washington State, but I was raised near Portland, Oregon, the setting for many of my books. I am married and
have three children who are sixteen, thirteen, and eleven. My husband, Kevin, is a pastor of worship. In 2001 I published my first book and in 2005
launched this web-site.
After
writing the story that I put into a contemporary setting, I began seeking publication from Christian publishers and was told
they already had enough such material for women and teens. Hmmm....??? God then provided the means for me to self-publish
that story along with others I had written by that time. I've been writing ever since and now have twenty-two novels
in print, a twelve-book teen series, an eight-book series for middle school girls, seven novels for college-age
students, four devotional books, and I'm still writing!
Through this journey I have been
drawn into a closer relationship with Jesus, and He has made Himself known to me in many new ways. I often put what
I have learned from His Word and His personal work in my life into the books I write, and it is my ultimate desire to
know my God and to make Him known. Some of my favorite Bible verses are Psalm 25:4-5; "Show
me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is
in you all day long."
In addition to writing, I enjoy
being with my family, photography, listening to music, flower gardening, romantic walks on the beach with my husband, and
teaching others about Jesus.

I began writing about twenty years ago with no
clue about what I was doing! I just knew that I had always enjoyed writing. After a few years of learning a lot
from how-to books, I felt God laying a particular story on my heart. This story, Baby's Breath, is now a part of
the "Garden of Love" series and is based largely on my mother's experience as a young single mom who found her way
back to God during that difficult time and found true love with a man she had earnestly prayed for.
God has blessed me with an amazing
gift that I am truly thankful for and in-awe of every day. I love writing the stories as much as others seem to enjoy
reading them, and I also do all of my own editing, formatting, cover design and binding of the books. Many of my
readers tell me they have passed their copies on to family members and friends, and these books have ended up going all
over the country and also internationally.
I have been greatly touched and inspired
by my wonderful family and many mentors and friends; By other Christian authors such as Janette Oke, Max Lucado, Lori
Wick, and Robin Jones Gunn; Christian recording artists Rebecca St. James, Steven Curtis Chapman, Chris Tomlin, and
